简介:Thispaperintroducesanewenhancementmethodformulti-spectralsatelliteremotesensingimagery,basedonprincipalcomponentanalysis(PCA)andintensity-hue-saturation(IHS)transformations.ThePCAandtheIHStransformationsareusedtoseparatethespatialinformationofthemulti-spectralimageintothefirstprincipalcomponentandtheintensitycomponent,respectively.TheenhancedimageisobtainedbyreplacingtheintensitycomponentoftheIHStransformationwiththefirstprincipalcomponentofthePCAtransformation,andundertakingtheinverseIHStransformation.Theobjectiveoftheproposedmethodistomakegreateruseofthespatialandspectralinformationcontainedintheoriginalmulti-spectralimage.Onthebasisofthevisualandstatisticalanalysisresultsoftheexperimentalstudy,wecanconcludethattheproposedmethodisanidealnewwayformulti-spectralimagequalityenhancementwithlittlecolordistortion.Ithaspotentialadvantagesinimagemappingoptimization,objectrecognition,andweakinformationsharpening.
