Athree-dimensionalmodelofGaAs/A1GaAsquantumdoubleringsinthelateralstaticelectricfieldisinvestigatedtheoretically.Theeigenvalueproblemwiththeeffective-massapproximationissolvedbymeansofthefinite-elementmethod.Theenergylevelsandwavefunctionsofquantum-confinedelectronsandheavyholesareobtainedandshowanagreementwithourprevioustheoreticalandexperimentalstudies.ItisshownintheapproximationofneglectingtheCoulombattractionbetweentheelectronandheavyholethatarelativelylargeStarkshiftofexcitonemissionof4meVisattainablewithanappliedelectricfieldof0.7kV/cm.
