Attheambienttemperatureandpressureaglowdischargeplasmawasusedasanewapproachforthecouplingofmethanewiththenewly-developedrotarymultidentatehelixelectrode.Inthepresenceofhydrogen,theeffectsoftheinputpeakvoltagesandgasflowratesonmethaneconversion,C_2singlepassyieldandselectivitywereinvestigated,andthentheresultswerecomparedwiththosefromthethree-discmultidentateelectrode.Thisdemonstrated,onanexperimentalscale,thattherotarymultidentatehelixelectrodewasbetterthanthemultidentatethree-discelectrodeastherewaslittleaccumulationofcoke,andtheC_2yieldperpasswas69.85%andC_2selectivityover99.14%with70.46%methaneconversionataninputpeakvoltageof2300Vand60ml/mingasflowrate.
