简介:Thispaperpresentsaninvestigationontheself-focusing/defocusingofchirpedGaussianlaserbeamincollisionalplasmawithlinearabsorption.WehavederivedthedifferentialequationforthebeamwidthparameterbyusingWKBandparaxialapproximationsandsolveditnumerically.Theeffectofchirpandotherlaserplasmaparametersisseenonthebehaviorofbeamwidthparameterwithdimensionlessdistanceofpropagation.Theresultsarediscussedandpresentedgraphically.Oursimulationresultsshowthattheamplitudeofoscillationsdecreaseswiththedistanceofpropagation.Duetocollisionalfrequency,thelaserbeamshowsfastdivergencewhichcanbeminimizedbytheintroductionofchirpparameter.Thechirpdecreasestheeffectofdefocusingandincreasestheabilityofself-focusingoflaserbeamincollisionalplasma.

简介:Thispaperdealswiththecapabilitiesoflinearandnonlinearbeamtheoriesinpredictingthedynamicresponseofanelasticallysupportedthinbeamtraversedbyamovingmass.Tothisend,thediscreteequationsofmotionaredevelopedbasedonLagrange’sequationsviareproducingkernelparticlemethod(RKPM).Foraparticularcaseofasimplysupportedbeam,GalerkinmethodisalsoemployedtoverifytheresultsobtainedbyRKPM,andareasonablygoodagreementisachieved.Variationsofthemaximumdynamicdeflectionandbendingmomentassociatedwiththelinearandnonlinearbeamtheoriesareinvestigatedintermsofmovingmassweightandvelocityforvariousbeamboundaryconditions.Itisdemonstratedthatformajorityofthemovingmassvelocities,thedifferencesbetweentheresultsoflinearandnonlinearanalysesbecomeremarkableasthemovingmassweightincreases,particularlyforhighlevelsofmovingmassvelocity.Exceptforthecantileverbeam,thenonlinearbeamtheorypredictshigherpossibilityofmovingmassseparationfromthebasebeamcomparedtothelinearone.Furthermore,theaccuracylevelsofthelinearbeamtheoryaredeterminedforthinbeamsunderlargedeflectionsandsmallrotationsasafunctionofmovingmassweightandvelocityinvariousboundaryconditions.
