简介:Polyamide(PA6)andpolycarbonate(PC)werepreparedbyaBrabendermixer(PLV-151)at240℃with30rpmfordurationof8and6minutesrespectively.Theepoxyresin(E)additioncanleadtosubstantialmicrostructuralchangesinthePA6/PCblends.Scanningelectronmicroscope(SEM)wasusedtoobservethemixturescharacterizedbythedomainsofclearlysegregatedhomophasesandvoidsbetweenthetwopolymers.PA6/PCofpolyamide6andpolycarbonatewithepoxyresinadditionunderthecompositionratioof20/80,20/80/1,40/60/1and40/60,weretestedtoverifythekeyroleofepoxyinpromotingthecompatibilityofPA6withPCduringblending.

简介:Thecompatibilitybetweendirectcoalliquefactionresidue(DCLR)andfivekindsofpurebitumen(Shell-90,SK-90,ZSY-70,DM-70andKLMY-50)wasevaluatedinthisstudy.Therheologicalcharacteristics,glasstransitiontemperatures(T_g),solubilityparameters(SP)andSARA(saturates,aromatics,resins,andasphaltenes)fractionsofDCLR,fivekindsofpurebitumenandtheirblends(namedasDCLRmodifiedbitumen)weremeasuredusingthedynamicshearrheometer(DSR),differentialscanningcalorimetry(DSC),viscosity,andSARAtests,respectively.AndthecompatibilitybetweenDCLRandpurebitumenwascharacterizedwiththreeapproaches,viz.theCole-Coleplot,T_g,andthesolubilityparameterdifference(SPD)method.Sinceeachmethodhasitsownworkingmechanism,thecompatibilityrankingfortheDCLRandfivekindsofpurebitumenisslightlydifferentaccordingtothethreeapproaches.However,thedifferenceisprettycloseandsometimescanbeignored.Thegeneralcompatibilityrankingdecreasesinthefollowingorder:Shell-90≈SK-90>DM-70≈ZSY-70>KLMY-50,whichisaffectedbytheasphaltenescontentandthecolloidindex(I_c)valueinthepurebitumen.Purebitumenwithlowerasphaltenescontentandcolloidindex(I_c)valuehasbettercompatibilitywithDCLR.
简介:Objective:Tostudycellularcompatibilityofimprovedscaffoldmaterialwithdeproteinizedheterogeneousboneandprovideexperimentalbasisonchoosingthescaffoldmaterialinbonetissueengineering.Methods:Bonemarrowstromalcells(BMSC)wereco-culturedwithheterogeneousdeproteinizedboneinvitro.Thecontrastphasemicroscope,scanningelectronmicroscope,MTTassay,flowcytometrywereperformedandtheBGPcontentandALPactivitiesweredetectedinordertoobservethecellgrowth,adhesioninthematerial,cellcycleandcellviability.Results:Thescaffoldmaterialofdeproteinizedheterogeneousbonehadnoinhibitoryeffectoncellularproliferation,differentiationandsecretionfunctionofBMSCs.Conclusions:TheestablishedheterogeneousdeproteinizedbonehasgoodbiocompatibilitywithBMSCsandisapotentiallyidealscaffoldmaterialforbonetissueengineering.
简介:Poly(ethyleneterephthalate)(dacron,PET)filmswereexposedunderargonplasmaglowdischargewithdifferentglowsandinducedpolymerizationofacrylicacid(AA)inordertointroducecarboxylicacidgroupontoPET(PET-AA)assistedbyultravioletradiation(UV).HirudinimmobilizedPET(PET-HRD)filmswerepreparedbythegraftingofPET-AA,followedbychemicalreactionwithhirudin.ThesurfacestructureofthetreatedPETwasdeterminedbyX-rayphotoelectronspectroscopy(XPS).Thewettability,surfacefreeenergy,andinterfacefreeenergyofthefilmswereinvestigatedbycontactanglemeasurement.Thebloodcompatibilityofthefilmswasassessedbyplatelet-adhesiontestandfibrinogenconformationalchangemeasurementstoevaluatetheviabilityofthematerialsinbiomedicalengineering.Measurementbyscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM)revealedthattheamountsofadhered,aggregatedandmorphologicallychangedplateletswerereducedonthehirudin-immobilizedPETfilms.Enzyme-linked-immunoassaymeasurementsthatdisclosedfibrinogenconformationalchangesshowedresultsconsistentwiththeplatelets’behavior.

简介:HeparinwascovalentlyimmobilizedontopolyurethanesurfaceviaaPEGspacerbyamicrowave-assistedapproachtoimprovebloodcompatibility.Firstly,amino-terminatedpoly(ethyleneglycol)(APEG)wasrapidlygraftedontoPUsurfacewithin20minbyatwo-stepmethodinvolvingmicrowave-assistedMDI-functionalizationandsubsequentmicrowave-assistedAPEGcoupling.Then,heparinwascovalentlyimmobilizedthroughanamidelinkagebythedirectcouplingofthecarboxylicacidofheparinwiththeaminogroupofAPEGonPUsurfaceusingcarbodiimidecouplingreaction.ThesurfacestructureandpropertieswerecharacterizedbyX-rayphotoelectronspectroscopy(XPS),atomicforcemicroscopy(AFM)andwatercontactanglemeasurements.Theresultsrevealedthatheparin-immobilizedPUsurfacehadslightlyincreasedroughnessandsignificantlyimprovedhydrophilicityincomparisontotheoriginalPUsurface.Theanticoagulantactivityoffilmswasevaluatedbywholebloodclottingtime(CT)andprothrombintime(PT).Complementactivationwasassessedbydetectingcomplementfragment3aconcentrationsofserumexposedtothefilms.Theresultsrevealedthatthemicrowave-assistedheparin-immobilizedPUfilmshadexcellentantithrombogenicityandsuppressedcomplementactivation,indicatingimprovedbloodcompatibility.

简介:Twograftingmethods,i.e.solutiongraftingandpre-adsorbing,areintroducedtocovalentlyimmobilizehydrophilicpolymersonsegmentedpolyurethane(SPU)tomodifyitshydrophilicityandtoimproveitscellcompatibility.Solutiongraftingresultsinhigherdegreeofgraftingandroughersurfacemorphology.Cellcultureevaluationdemonstratesthatthemodifiedmembranesthusobtainedaredisadvantageoustotheendothelialcell(ECs)growthprobablybecausethehydrophilicgroupsonthesurfaceareover-crowded.However,pre-absorbinggraftinggenerateslowerdegreeofgrafting,whichisdetectedandconfirmedbyATR-FTIRspectraandwatercontactangle.Scanningelectronmicroscopic(SEM)measurementshowsthatthelattermethodproducesaplaneandsmoothmorphology,whichissimilartotheSPUcontrolsamplecontrolled.Whengraftingwithlowermonomerconcentration,ECscouldgrowonSPU-g-PHEA[poly(2-hydroxyethylacrylate)],SPU-g-PAAm(polyacrylamide),SPU-g-PDMA[poly(2-(dimethylamino)ethylmethacrylate)]orquaternizedSPU-g-PDMAsurfacewithelongatedcellshapes.Hence,thecellcompatibilityofSPUisimprovedandausefulmethodtoconstructacellcompatiblelayeronthepolymersurfacehasbeendeveloped.``
