  • 简介:Thepaperdealswiththegeologicalsetting,historyandsubsidenceoftheVenetianPlain.MajorattentionispaidtothePleistocene-HolocenestratigraphicsequenceintheLagoonofVenice,inrelationtoitsoriginthatdatesbackto6-7kyrBP.Geologicallandsubsidence,whichplayedanimportantroleintheoriginandtheevolutionofthelagoon,andanthropogenicsubsidence,thathasrecentlyassumedamajorimportancefortheVenetianenvironment,arediscussed.Consideringalsothesealevelrise,23cmlossinlandelevationhasoccurredinthelastcentury,leadingtoincreasedfloodingeventsandenvironmentalproblemsthatrequireprotectiveworks.

  • 简介:About26sedimentarybasinsbearingoilandgasaredevelopedinChina.Theycanbeclassifiedintotwomaintypes,extensionalbasinsandforelandbasins.Theformerarechieflydistributedintheeasternpartandthelatterinthecentralandnorthwesternpartsofthecountry.Thepresentpaperdiscussesthestructuralcharacteristicsofthesebasins,includingsubsidencehistory,thermalhistoryandstructuralstyleandkinematics.Combinedwithtectonicsettinganalysisofgeophysicaldataanderuptiverocks,thegeodynamicsettingofthebasinsisestablished,andtheformationmechanismofthebasinsisdeducedtohavebeenrelatedtothesubductionoftheIzanagiandwestPacificplatesandtheclosingoftheTethysocean.

  • 简介:Asynthesisofcrustalthicknessestimateswasmaderecentlyutilizingavailablefield,geochemical,seismicity,shearwavevelocityandgravitydatainthePhilippines.TheresultsshowthatasignificantportionofthePhilippinearchipelagoisgenerallycharacterizedbycrustwithathicknessofaround25to30kilometers.However,twozones,whicharemadeupofathickercrust(from30to65km)havealsobeendelineated.TheLuzonCentralCordilleraregionischaracterizedbythickcrust.AnotherbeltofthickenedcrustisobservedintheBicol-Negros-Panay-CentralMindanaoregion.ThispaperexaminestheinterplayoftectonicandmagmaticprocessesandtheirroleinmodifyingPhilippinearccrust.Theprocesses,whichcouldaccountfortheobservedcrustalthicknesses,arepresented.Thecontributionsofmagmaticarcsascomparedtothecontributionoftheemplacementandaccretionofophiolitecomplexestocrustalthicknessarealsodiscussed.

  • 简介:ThreeglobalmetallogenicbeltswereformedintheworldduringMesozoicandpost-Mesozoictimes.TwoofthemaresituatedalongthewesternandeasternPacificmargins,andthethirdone-theTethyanEurasianmetallogenicbelt(TEMB)isrelatedtothedomainofEurasianplateandflankedonthesouthbytheAfro-ArabianandIndianplates.ThegeneraltectonicevolutionoftherealmwheretheTEMBwasformediscloselyconnectedwiththehistoryofTethys.Theemplacementoforedepositsandthedevelopmentofregionalmetallogenicunitsarerelatedtoadefinitivetimeintervalandtospecifictectonicsettingssuchas:(1)IntracontinentalriftingalongthenorthernmarginofGondwanaand/orfragmentsalreadyseparated;(2)Oceanicenvironments(i.e.ophiolitecomplexesandoceanfloorsediments)hostpodiformchromitedeposits,volcano-sedimentarycupriferouspyritedeposits(Cyprustype),stratiformmanganesedeposits,andsporadicallyPGEdeposits;(3)Subductionrelatedsettingsinvolvemainlyporphyrycopperdeposits,hydrothermalmassivesulphidepolymetallicdeposits,andepithermaldeposits.SofaridentifiedmineralizationofporphyrycopperexceedsintheTEMBover100milliontonsofcoppermetal;and(4)Collisionandpost-collisioncontinent-continentsettingincludesdepositsoflead-zinc,antimony,gold,insomesectorstindeposits,aswell.ThegiantdepositsofLi-pegmatiteoccursporadically.TheTEMBisalmostacontinuouslymineralizedbelt,butwithinit,somesectorsdisplayspecificfeaturesoftectonicsettings,associationofelements,mineralsandmorphogenetictypesofmineralization.

  • 简介:Thegeochemistryofsedimentsisprimarilycontrolledbytheirprovenances,anddifferenttectonicsettingshavedistinctiveprovenancecharacteristicsandsedimentaryprocesses.So,itispossibletodiscriminateprovenances,depositionalenvironmentsandtectonicsettingsinthedevelopmentofasedimentarybasinwiththegeochemistryoftheclasticrocks.TheanalyticalresultsofthepresentpaperdemonstratethatsedimentsintheSongliaoprototypebasinareenrichedinsilica(SiO2=66.48-80.51%),andtheirΣREEare30-130timesofthatofchondritewithremarkableEuanomalies.IndiscriminatingdiagramsofEu/Eu*vsΣREEand(La/Yb)NvsΣREE,mostsampleslocateabovethelineEu/Eu*=1,ontherightofthelineEu/Eu*/ΣREE=1andunderthelineLa/Yb)N/ΣREE=1/8,whichindicatesthatthedepositionalenvironmentofsedimentsinthebasinwasoxidizing.Inaddition,variationsofMgO,TiO2,A12O3,FeO+Fe2O3,Na2OandCaOvsSiO2reflectatendencyofincreasingmineralmaturityofsedimentsinthebasin.Analysesalsoshowthattheprotolytesofthesedimentsinthebasinwerefelsicigneousrocks,andtheSongliaoprototypebasinwasinatectonicsettingofanislandarconanactivecontinentalmargin,withviolentsinistralstrike-slip.

  • 简介:GeochemicalanalysisofsandstonesfromtheSardarFormation(fromtwostratigraphicsuccessions)ineast-centralIranwereusedforidentificationofgeochemicalcharacterizationofsandstones,provenanceandtectonicsetting.Sandstonesinthetwolithostratigraphicsuccessionshavesimilarchemicalcompositionssuggestingacommonprovenance.Bulk-rockgeochemistryanalysisofCarboniferoussandstonesfromSardarFormationindicatesthattheyaremainlyquartzdominatedandareclassifiedasquartzarenites,sublitharenitesandsubarkoses,derivedfromacidigneoustointermediateigneousrocks.DiscriminationfunctionanalysisindicatesthatthesandstonesofSardarFormationwerederivedfromquartzosesedimentaryprovenanceinarecycledorogenicsetting.Also,majorandtraceelementsinsandstonesofSardarFormation(e.g.,K2O/Na2Ovs.SiO2)indicatedepositioninastablepassivecontinentalmargin(PM).Chemicalindexofalteration(CIA)fortheserocks(>65%)suggestsamoderatetorelativelyhighdegreeofweatheringinthesourcearea.

  • 简介:TheEastTianshanisaremoteGobiarealocatedineasternXinjiang,northwesternChina.Inthepastseveralyears,anumberofgold,porphyrycopper,andFe(-Cu)andCu-Ag-Pb-Znskarndepositshavebeendiscoveredthereandareattractingexplorationinterest.TheEastTianshanislocatedbetweentheJunggarblocktothenorthandearlyPaleozoicterranesoftheMiddleTianshantothesouth.ItispartofaHercynianorogenwiththreedistinctE-W-trendingtectonicbelts:theDevonian-EarlyCarboniferousTousuquan-DananhuislandarconthenorthandtheCarboniferousAqishan-Yamansuriftbasintothesouth,whichareseparatedbyrocksoftheKanggurtagshearzone.Theporphyrydeposits,datedat322Ma,arerelatedtothelateevolutionarystagesofasubduction-relatedoceanicorcontinentalmarginarc.Incontrast,theskarn,gold,andmagmaticNi-Cudepositsareassociatedwithpost-colli-sionaltectonicsatca.290-270Ma.TheseLateCarboniferous-EarlyPermiandepositsareassociatedwithlarge-scaleemplacementanderuptionofmagmaspossiblycausedbylithospheredelaminationandriftingwithintheEastTianshan.
