The Lagoon of Venice： geological setting,evolution and land subsidence-中国期刊网

摘要 Thepaperdealswiththegeologicalsetting,historyandsubsidenceoftheVenetianPlain.MajorattentionispaidtothePleistocene-HolocenestratigraphicsequenceintheLagoonofVenice,inrelationtoitsoriginthatdatesbackto6-7kyrBP.Geologicallandsubsidence,whichplayedanimportantroleintheoriginandtheevolutionofthelagoon,andanthropogenicsubsidence,thathasrecentlyassumedamajorimportancefortheVenetianenvironment,arediscussed.Consideringalsothesealevelrise,23cmlossinlandelevationhasoccurredinthelastcentury,leadingtoincreasedfloodingeventsandenvironmentalproblemsthatrequireprotectiveworks.
