Thispaperdealswiththeproblemofguaranteedcostcontrolfornonlinearsystemswithtime-varyingdelayswhichisrepresentedbyTakagi-Sugeno(T-S)fuzzymodelswithtime-varyingdelays.Thederivativesoftime-varyingdelayarenotnecessarytobebounded.Basedonthefreeweightingmatrixmethod,sufficientconditionsfortheexistenceoffuzzyguaranteedcostcontrollerviastatefeedbackaregivenintermsoflinearmatrixinequalities(LMIs).Aminimizingmethodisalsoproposedtosearchthesuboptimalupperboundoftheguaranteedcostfunction.Theresultsaredelay-dependentbutcontaindelay-independentcriteriaasaspecialcase.Anumericalexampleispresentedtodemonstratetheeffectivenessandlessconservativenessofourwork.
