Intheproductionofhotextrusionpipes,thebilletwillbeheatedinaninductionfurnace,beforepiercingorextrusion,toacertaintemperature.Theinductionheatingtemperaturefieldprofileinthebilletwillexertaninfluenceonthedeformationprocesses.ThestudyhasdevelopedandataconversionprogramtoconvertthetemperaturedatafrominductionheatingbyANSYStodeformationsimulationsoftwareDEFORM;therefore,notonlytherelativelyaccuratetemperaturefieldcanbemadeavailable,comparedwiththeusuallyassumeduniformtemperaturefield,butalsotheconnectionbetweeninductionheatinganddeformationcanbeestablished,whichisessentialtoevaluatetheprocessingparameters.Numericalsimulationofthepiercingprocessesofdifferenttemperaturefieldsbyinductionheatingwascarriedout,andtheresultshaveshownthatthedifferentinitialtemperaturefieldsinthebilletcanleadtodifferentdeformationcurves,whichindicatesthattheconversionprogramisnecessarytostudytheproductionprocessofhotextrusionpipes.
