  • 简介:Directmeasurementofsliplengthisbasedonthemeasuredfluidvelocitynearsolidboundary.However,previousmicroparticleimagevelocimetry/particletrackingvelocimetry(microPIV/PTV)measurementshavereportedsurprisinglylargemeasurednear-wallvelocitiesofpressure-drivenflowinapparentcontradictionwiththeno-sliphy-pothesisandexperimentalresultsfromothertechniques.TobetterinterpretthemeasuredresultsofthemicroPIV/PTV,weperformedvelocityprofilemeasurementsnearahy-drophilicwall(z=0.25-1.5μm)withtwosizesoftracerparticles(φ50nmandφ200nm).Theexperimentalresultsindicatethat,atlessthan1μmfromthewall,thedeviationsbetweenthemeasuredvelocitiesandno-sliptheoreticalvaluesobviouslydecreasefrom93%ofφ200nmparticlesto48%ofφ50nmparticles.TheBoltzmann-likeexponentialmeasuredparticleconcentrationsnearwallwerefound.BasedonthenonlinearBoltzmanndistributionofparticleconcentrationandtheeffectivefocusplanethickness,weillustratedthereasonoftheapparentvelocityincreasenearwallandproposedamethodtocorrectthemeasuredvelocityprofile.Bythismethod,thedeviationsbetweenthecorrectedmeasuredvelocitiesandtheno-sliptheoreticalvelocitydecreasefrom45.8%to10%,andthemeasuredsliplengthonhy-drophilicglassisrevisedfrom75nmto16nm.TheseresultsindicatedthattheparticlesizeandthebiasedparticleconcentrationdistributioncansignificantlyaffectnearwallvelocitymeasurementviamicroPIV/PTV,andresultinlargermeasuredvelocityandsliplengthclosetowall.

  • 简介:Recenthigh-resolutiondeepseismicreflectionprofileacrosstheKunlunfaultinnortheasternTibetshowsclearlythattheMohoiscutoffbyacomplexthrustfaultsystem.Mohooffsetisageneralphenomenon,butlittleisknownaboutthedynamicmechanism.Inthisstudy,contactmodelswithMaxwellmaterialsareusedtosimulatethemechanicalprocessofMohooffsetinducedbytheaseismicslipofdeeplyburiedfaults.Basedontheseismicreflectiondata,weprojectasinglefaultmodelandacomplexfaultsystemmodelwithtwofaultsintersecting.ThedeformationsoftheMoho,theaseismicslips,andcontactstressesonfaultsindifferentmodelsarediscussedindetail.ResultsshowthattheMohooffsetmightbeproducedbyaseismicslipofdeeplyburiedfaults,andthemagnitudeisinfluencedbythefrictioncoefficientoffaultsandtheviscosityofthelowercrust.ThemaximumslipoccursneartheMohoonthesinglefaultoratthecrossingpointoftwointersectingfaultssystem.StressconcentratesmainlyontheMoho,thedeependoffaults,orthecrossingpoint.ThisstudywillthrowlightonunderstandingthemechanismofMohooffsetandaseismicslipofdeeplyburiedfaults.Theresultsofcomplexfaultsystemwithtwofaultsintersectingarealsousefultounderstandtheshallowintersectingfaultsthatmaycauseearthquakes.

  • 简介:Thisinvestigationdealswiththeeffectsofslip,magneticfield,andnonNewtonianflowparametersontheflowandheattransferofanincompressible,electricallyconductingfourth-gradefluidpastaninfiniteporousplate.Theheattransferanalysisiscarriedoutfortwoheatingprocesses.Thesystemofhighlynon-lineardifferentialequationsissolvedbytheshootingmethodwiththefourth-orderRunge-Kuttamethodformoderatevaluesoftheparameters.TheeffectiveBroydentechniqueisadoptedinordertoimprovetheinitialguessesandtosatisfytheboundaryconditionsatinfinity.Anexceptionalcross-overisobtainedinthevelocityprofileinthepresenceofslip.Thefourth-gradefluidparameterisfoundtoincreasethemomentumboundarylayerthickness,whereastheslipparametersubstantiallydecreasesit.Similarly,thenon-Newtonianfluidparametersandthesliphaveoppositeeffectsonthethermalboundarylayerthickness.

  • 简介:Inthepresentstudythefabricationofgradedcoarsegrainedceramicbodiesforrefractoryapplicationswasinvestigatedusingapressurefiltrationcell,whichusespressurizedairasthepressuremedium.Thepressurefiltrationcellwasusedtoexaminetheinfluenceofdifferentceramicrawmaterials,twodispersants,andoftheparticlesizedistributiononthefiltrationbehaviorandonthefiltercakesurfacequality.Pressureslipcastingofspinelbasedslipsresultedincrack-freefiltercakes,whilealuminabasedslipsresultedinfiltercakes,whichalwaysstuckontheusedPMMAfiltermedium.Furthermore,citricacidasanelectrostaticdispersantresultedinamuchlowerfiltrationcakeresistanceandhenceshorterfiltrationtimesthananelectrostericdispersant.Abroaderparticlesizedistributionwithahigheradditionofthefinestparticlefractioncausedanincreaseinthefiltercakeresistancebutalsoyieldedmuchbettersurfacequalities.Finally,gradedfiltercakeswiththreelayersofaluminarichmagnesiumaluminatespinelwithamaximumgrainsizeof3mm,1mm,and0.5mm,respectively,werefabricated.ThecomputedX-rayanalyzesindicatedaperfectbondingbetweenthethreelayers,whichisasignificantimprovementtopreviousstudies.However,thegradedfiltercakesexhibitedfrequentlycracksatthebottom,whichwasprobablycausedbytensilestressesfromthefrictionofthefiltercakeswiththepressurefiltrationcell.Thiswillbefurtherinvestigatedinsubsequentstudies.Theachievedresultsdemonstratethefeasibilitytoproducecoarsegrainedoxideceramicsforrefractoryapplicationsbypressureslipcasting,whicheventuallyallowstheproductionofcompositeswithtailoredcompositions,microstructureandfunctionality.
