简介：AnovellinkadaptationschemeusinglinearAutoRegressive(AR)modelchannelestimationalgorithmtoenhancetheperformanceofautorateselectionmechanisminIEEE802.11gisproposed.ThisschemecanovercomethelowefficiencycausedbytimeintervalbetweenthetimewhenReceivedSignalStrength(RSS)ismeasuredandthetimewhenrateisselected.Thebestrateisselectedbasedondatapayloadlength,frameretrycountandtheestimatedRSS,whichisestimatedfromrecordedRSSs.Simulationresultsshowthattheproposedschemeenhancesmeanthroughputperformanceupto7%,insaturationstate,andupto24%infiniteloadstatecomparedwiththosenon-estimationschemes,performanceenhancementsinaveragedroprateandaveragenumberoftransmissionattemptsperdataframedeliveryalsovalidatetheeffectivenessoftheproposedscheme.
