Samplesofthecrosssectionmicrostructuresofgalvannealedsteelsheetsthatlackalloyingwereanalyzed.X-raydiffraction(XRD)testswerecarriedout.Thestudydiscoversthatthedeficitofalloyingwashigheronbothsidesofthesteelsheetwhencomparedtothecenterandthethicknessofthecoatingonthesideswasalsohigherthanthecenter.TheresultsoftheXRDtestsdemonstratethatthemicrostructureofthecoatingwithalackofalloyismainlycomposedofzinc,ζandδ.Theyalsoindicatethatthelackofalloyingismainlyduetoalowergalvannealingtemperatureandthickercoating.Itisshownbytheopticalmicrographsofcoatingthattheδphaseformsfirstinadiscontinuousmannerattheinterfaceandthenrapidlypushestowardsthecoatingandenlarges.
