ConventionalSyntheticApertureRadar(SAR)systemscannotobtainhigh-resolutionandwide-swathilluminationareaduetothewell-knownminimumantennaareaconstraint.SinglePhaseCenterMultiBeam(SPCMB)techniquecanovercomethislimitationbyaddingspatialsamplingthroughmultiplereceiversinazimuthdirection.Unfortunately,thisapproachwillleadtoanincreaseofazimuthambiguities(interbeamambiguities),becauseeachreceivebeam’smainlobeoverlapswiththeotherones’sidelobes.ThispaperprovesthatthefrontpartofSPCMBSARsystemscanbeconsideredtobeahybridfilterbank.Therefore,theazimuthsignalcanbereconstructedandtheinterbeamam-biguitiescanbeeffectivelysuppressedbyawell-designedhybridfilterbank.
