Comparativestudyontheactivityandkinecticpropertiesofacidphosphatase(ACPase)ofthreesoilsamendedwithHgandCuatconstanttemperatureandhumiditywascarriedout.TheresultsindicatedthattheinhibitiononACPaseofthethreesamplesoilsbyHgandCuvariedwiththecontentofsoilorganicmatterandpH,where,Soil1wasthemostseriouslycontami-natedduetoitslowestcontentoforganicmatterandthelowestpHamongthreesamples,Soil2tookthesecondplace,andSoil3wastheleastcontaminated.ExceptSoil3,theactivityofsoilACPasetendedtoincreasealongwiththecontacttimeunderthesametypeandthesameconcentrationofheavymetal.InparticulartheVmaxvaluesofACPaseinallthreesamplesdecreasedwithincreasingHgandCuconcentration,whereastheKmvalueswereaffectedweakly.AccordingtothechangeofVmaxandKmvalues,CuandHghadthesameinhibitioneffectonsoilACPase.Bothofthemmaybeatypeofcompoundofnon-competitiveandanti-competitiveinhibition.StatisticanalysesindicatedthatactivitiesofsoilACPaseandVmaxvaluescouldserveasbioindicatortopartiallydenotetheheavymetalHgandCucontaminationdegree.
