ThepassivebistaticradarbasedontheFMbroadcasthasinherentsuperioritywithrespecttoitssurvivability.Inthisarticle,theambiguityfunction(AF)andthecrossambiguityfunction(CAF)oftheFMradiosignalareanalyzedandillustrated.TheKolmogorovSmirnov(K-S)testverifiesthattheamplitudeprobabilitydensityfunctionoftheCAFsidelobesisexponential;thedistributionofthetargetisalsodeduced.Finally,thedetectionperformanceofthepassiveradarisstudied,andtheresultshowsthatthisnewtypebistaticradarhasfavorabledetectioncapability.
