ThisworkpresentsabriefintroductiononthreekindsofnewlydevelopedNd3+-dopedlaserglassesinShanghaiInstituteofOpticsandFineMechanics(SIOM),China.TwoNd3+-dopedphosphateglasseswithlowerthermalexpansioncoefficientandthermalshockresistance4timeshigherthanthatofN31glassaredevelopedforlaserprocessing.Nd:SilicateandNd:Aluminateglasseswithpeakemissionwavelengthat1061and1065nm,effectiveemissionbandwidthof34and50nm,respectively,aredevelopedforExawatt-classlasersystemapplication.Fluorophosphateglasseswithlownonlinearrefractiveindex(n2=0.6-0.86)andlongfluorescencelifetime(430-510μs)areinvestigatedforthepurposeofdecreasingBintegralinhigh-powerlasersystem.Thepropertiesofalltheseglassesarepresentedandcomparedwiththoseofcommercialneodymiumlaserglasses.
