Calciumsulfatehemihydrate（CSH）whiskersweresynthesizedbyphasetransitioninCaCl2solutionunderatmosphericpressure.Analytical-gradecalciumsulfatedihydrate（ARCSD）wasusedastherawmaterialforthesynthesisofCSHwhiskers,accordingtoorthogonalexperiments.Theeffectsofreactiontemperature,ARCSDcontent,H2SO4content,andreactiontimewereinvestigated,andthecrystallizationconditionswereoptimized.Theas-preparedCSHwhiskersdisplayedaregularmorphologyandahighlyuniformsize,withanaspectratioof105.AsimulationsystemwasalsoestablishedbyblendingvarioussulfateswithARCSD,toevaluatetheeffectsofimpuritiesinfluegasdesulfurization（FGD）gypsum.ThemainaimwastoprepareCSHwhiskersdirectlyfromFGDgypsum,withoutanypurification,usingtheoptimizedconditions.Thisisafacilepotentialalternativeprocessforlarge-scaleproductionofCSHwhiskersusingabundantFGDgypsumassourcematerials.
