Thesynthesisofnontoxicstablegoldnanoparticlesisimportantformedicalapplications.AnaqueousextractoftheplantStachyslavandulifoliaVahlwasusedtosynthesizegoldnanoparticles.ThisgreenmethodinvolvedtheS.lavandulifoliaVahlextractactingasareducingandstabilizingagent.Thenanoparticleswerecharacterizedbytransmissionelectronmicroscopy,dynamiclightscatteringanalysisandUV-visabsorptionandFouriertransform-infraredspectroscopies.Stabilityunderphysiologicalconditionsisimportantformedicalapplications.Thestabilityofthenanoparticleswascomparedwiththatofconventionalcitrate-cappednanoparticles,underbothsyntheticandphysiologicalconditions.ThenanoparticlessynthesizedfromtheS.lavandulifoliaVahlextractwerestableunderphysiologicalconditions,incontrastwithconventionalcitrate-cappednanoparticles.
