摘要
Wehaveidentifiedseveralkeyeventsinthymocyteapoptosisoverthepastfewyears,includingarequiredroleforproteasomefunctionandtheproductionofROS.WhileweourdataestablishedthatproteasomefunctionandROSproductionarerequiredforapoptosisinthymocytes,wehadnotestablishedtheorderofeventsleadingfromtheprimaryapoptoticstimulustotheactivationofcaspases.Recently,wehavedemonstratedthatbothTcellreceptorinducedapoptosisandglucocorticoidinducedapoptosissignalthymocytestodiethroughactivationoftheproteasomeandthiseventisupstreamoftheproductionofROS.
