摘要 Mammaliantoothdevelopmentislargelydependentonsequentialandreciprocalepithelial-mesenchymalinteractions.Theseprocessesinvolveaseriesofinductiveandpermissiveinteractionsthatresultinthedetermination,differentiation,andorganizationofodontogenictissues.Multiplesignalingmolecules,includingBMPs,FGFs,Shh,andWntproteins,havebeenimplicatedinmediatingthesetissueinteractions.Transcriptionfactorsparticipateinepithelial-mesenchymalinteractionsvialinkingthesignalingloopsbetweentissuelayersbyrespondingtoinductivesignalsandregulatingtheexpressionofothersignalingmolecules.Adultstemcellsarehighlyplasticandmultipotent.Thesecellsincludingdentalpulpstemcellsandbonemarrowstromalcellscouldbereprogrammedintoodontogenicfateandparticipatedintoothformation.Recentprogressinthestudiesofmolecularbasisoftoothdevelopment,adultstemcellbiology,andregenerationwillprovidefundamentalknowledgefortherealizationofhumantoothregenerationinthenearfuture.
