简介:本实验通过对聚丙烯(PP)进行改性,探讨在加入无卤膨账型阻燃剂(IFR)后,再加入不同比例的蒙脱土(MMT)对聚丙烯(PP)材料阻燃性能、力学性能以及微观形态的影响。通过氧指数、垂直燃烧、SEM图像、红外和热重分析以及力学性能测试等,研究MMT对以聚丙烯和IFR为基体的材料的阻燃特性和力学性能的影响。实验结果表明:蒙脱土加入IFR与聚丙晞复合的基体中,并未与材料形成插层结构,并且使得IFR原有的膨胀性受到抑制,材料的氧指数下降,成炭作用降低,整体的阻燃效果下降;但是蒙脱土的加入又使得材料的热稳定性提高,耐热性变好。蒙脱土在材料中作为应力集中点,导致材料的内应力加大,力学性能变差。
简介:Synergisticeffectsoflayereddoublehydroxide(LDH)withintumescentflameretardanct(IFR)ofphosphorus-nitrogen(NP)compoundinthepolypropylene/ethylene-propylene-diene/IFR/LDH(PP/EPDM/IFR/LDH)nanocompositesandrelatedpropertieswerestudiedbyX-raydiffraction(XRD),transmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM),scanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),limitingoxygenindex(LOI),UL-94test,conecalorimetertest(CCT)andthermo-gravimetricanalysis(TGA).TheXRDandTEMresultsshowthattheintercalatedand/orexfoliatednanocompositescanbeobtainedbydirectmelt-intercalationofPP/EPDMintomodifiedLDHandthatLDHcanpromotetheIFRadditiveNPtodispersemorehomogeneouslyinthepolymermatrix.TheSEMresultsprovidepositiveevidencethatmorecompactcharredlayerscanbeobtainedfromthePP/EPDM/NP/LDHsamplethanthosefromthePP/EPDM/LDHandPP/EPDM/NPsamplesduringburning.TheLOIandUL-94ratingtestsshowthatthesynergeticeffectsofLDHwithNPcaneffectivelyincreasetheflameretardantpropertiesofthePP/EPDM/NP/LDHsamples.ThedatafromtheCCTandTGAtestsindicatethatthePP/EPDM/NP/LDHsamplesapparentlydecreasetheHRRandMLRvaluesandthusenhancetheflameretardantpropertiesandhavebetterthermalstabilitythanthePP/EPDM/LDHandPP/EPDM/NPsamples.
