  • 简介:Onthebasisoftransformationkineticsandthermodynamics,theaustenite-ferritetransformationstarttemperatureduringdeformationwaspredictedforseveralgradesoflow-carbonsteelsunderdifferentprocessingconditions.ResultsindicatethatAr3dtemperaturemostlydependedonalloyingcompositionandprocessingparameters.Ar3dincreasedasstrainrateorstrainincreasedforthesamesteelgrade.Inviewofenhancementofdeformationontransformation,thebasickineticsmodelwasestablishedtosimulatedeformationinducedtransformationbehavior,usingwhichtheinfluenceofthedeformationstoredenergyandeffectivedeformationledgeonthenucleationandgrowthcanbeconsidered.Thesimulatedresultsareingoodagreementwithexperimentresults.

  • 简介:Themicrostructuralfeatures,shapememorybehaviorandmechanicalpropertiesofNi-Mnbasedalloyswereinvestigatedbydierentialscanningcalorimetry(DSC),scanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM),transmissionelectronmicroscopy(TEM)andthermalcyclingtestundervariousstresses.ThetransformationtemperaturesshiftedtowardlowertemperatureswhenaddingathirdelementintotheNi-Mnsystem.Theadditionof10at.pctFeincreasedconsiderablythemechanicalpropertiesexhibitingstillhightransformationtemperatures.However,itwasfoundthatinNiMn40Fe10alloythemartensitictransformationisnotthermoelasticinnature.ThemechanismofthistransformationandthecrystallographyofNi-Mn(50-x)-Fex(x=5,7,10,20at.pct)alloysarepresented.

  • 简介:Theeffectofthermalcyclingunderloadingonmartensitictransformationandtwo-wayshapememoryeffectwasinvestigatedforTi-49.8at.pctNialloy.ItisshownthatMsandMftemperatureincreasewithincreasingthenumberofcycles,whileAsandAftemperaturedecreaseduringthermalcycling.Thetotalstrainεtandpermanentstrainεpincreasewithincreasingappliedstressandnumberofcycles.Thetwo-wayshapememoryeffectcanbeimprovedbyproperthermalcyclingtrainingunderloading,whileexcessivelyhighappliedstressresultsinthedeteriorationofTWSME.Thereasonforthechangesinmartensitictransformationcharacteristicsandtwo-wayshapememoryeffectduringthermalcyclingunderloadingisdiscussedbasedontheanalysisofmicrostructurebyTEMobservations.

  • 简介:Themartensitic/ferriticsteelshavebeenusedasboilerandturbinematerialsinpowerplants,andalsobeenselectedaspotentialmaterialsforstructuralmaterialsinnuclearreactors.Inthispaper,thekineticanalysisofthemartensiteformationandmicrostructuralcontrolofhigh-Crmartensitic/ferriticsteelsarereviewed.Amodularapproach,incorporatingFisherpartitioningnucleationandanisotropicgrowthforimpingement,wasproposedtodescribethemartensiteformationkineticsunderdifferentcoolingrates.Thekineticanalysissuggestedathermal-activatedgrowthfeatureoccurringduringthemartensitictransformationofmartensiticsteels.Themicrostructurecanbetunedbycompositionoptimizationandvariouscombinationsofheattreatmentparameters(temperature,time,severeandminordeformation).Fortheapplicationinpowerplant,thepotentialofboundary-design,refinementoforiginalaustenitegrainsizeandthefinalmartensiticlath,pinningeffectofstablecarbides,inimprovingtheperformancesofmartensitic/ferriticsteelsatelevatedtemperaturesshouldbeinvestigatedmorethoroughly.Furthermore,effortsshouldbemadetoexploretheeffectsofretainedausteniteontheimprovementofhigh-temperaturecreepstrength.Fortheapplicationofnuclearplants,attemptsshouldalsobemadetoproduceFepowderswithuniformlydistributedoxideparticlesbychemicalreactions.

  • 简介:TheeffectoftitaniumadditiononthemicrostructureandmechanicalpropertiesofbrassCu40Znhasbeenstudiedviathepowdermetallurgy(P/M)route.Thewater-atomizedCu40Zn—1.0wt%Tialloypowderwasconsolidatedatdifferenttemperaturesintherangeof400—600℃usingsparkplasmasintering(SPS)andhotextrusionsubsequently.Resultsshowthatthesuper-saturatedsolidsolutiontitaniumelementinrapidlycooledbrassCu40Znpowdercreatedhighchemicalpotentialforaprecipitatereaction,showingsignificantgrainrefinementeffectsontheconsolidatedCu40Znmatrix.Consequently,excellentmechanicalpropertieswereobtainedbyprecipitationhardeningandworkhardeningaftersinteringandextrusion,withyieldstrengthof390MPa,ultimatetensilestrengthof617MPa,andVickersmicro-hardnessof192HV,whichare28.7%,23.4%,and23.9%highervaluesthanthoseofextrudedCu40Znbrass,respectively.
