简介:Twenty-twoofatotalof30earthquakeeventsreportedbytheIndonesianAgencyforGeophysics.ClimatologyandMeteorologyduringthetimeperiod2007-2010werefalselyissuedastsunamigenicbytheIndonesianTsunamiEarlyWarningSystem(Ina-TEWS).These30earthquakeswereofdifferentmagnitudesandoccurredindifferentlocations.ThisstudyaimedtoevaluatetheperformanceoftheIna-TEWSusingcommonearthquakeparameters,includingtheearthquakemagnitude,origintime,depth,andepicenter.Intotal.298datasetsassessedbytheIna-TEWSandtheglobalcentroidmomenttensor(CMT)methodwereassessed.TheglobalCMTmethodisconsideredbyalmostallseismologiststobeareferenceforthedeterminationoftheseparametersastheyhavebeenprovedtobeaccurate.Itwasfoundthattheearthquakemagnitude,origintime,anddepthprovidedbytheIna-TEWSweresignificantlydifferentfromthosegivenintheglobalCMTcatalog,whereasthelatitudeandlongitudepositionsoftheeventsprovidedbybothtsunamiassessmentsystemswerecoincident.TheperformanceoftheIna-TEWS.particularlyintermsofaccuracy,remainsquestionableandneedstobeimproved.
