  • 简介:He,CO2,O2,N2,CH4,C3H8,andt-C4H10gaspermeabilitycoefficientsanddiffusioncoefficientsofpoly(4-methylpentene-1)(PMP)withvariousdegreesofcrystallizationwereplottedagainstthedegreeofcrystallization.Theplotdemonstratedalinearrelationship.ThegaspermeabilitycoefficientanddiffusioncoefficientofpureamorphousandpurecrystallinePMPswereevaluatedbyalinearextrapolationtozeroand100%crystallinity,respectively.TherelationshipbetweenthediffusioncoefficientofcrystallinepartsofPMPandthekineticdiameterofpenetrantgaseswasdiscussed.Syndiotacticpolystyrene(SPS)couldexistasδformcrystalscomplexedwithorganicsolventssuchasbenzene,toluene,xylene,andethylbenzene.ThemesophaseofSPSispreparedbyannealingtheδformofcrystallinecomplexesatacertaintemperaturefor1h.Thedesorptionofsolventduringannealingalmostdoesnotresultinchangesofboththeconformationofbackbonechainsandthecrystallattice.Wecouldpreparethemesophasecontainingmolecularcavitieswiththesizeandshapeoftheorganicsolventmolecules.ThemesophasecouldsorbthesamesolventafterthemannerofLangmuirsorptionatlowvaporpressurerangewhilethiswouldnotbethecaseforsolventsofdifferentsizeandshape.Thissuggestsamolecularrecognitionoforganicsolvent,andmesophaseSPSmightbeusefulforseparationmembraneandadsorptivematerial.

  • 简介:Theapparentsolubility(S),concentration-averagediffusivity(D),andpermeability(P),forC02,CH4andN2throughPPOandaryl-brominatedPPOat35℃forpressurerangingfrom1to26atmarereported.ItisfoundthatP,D,andSofthemembranestoallthethreegasesvarywiththeextentofbromination.Sincreaseswiththeincreaseofthepercentofbromineineachcase,butDtoCO2increasesremarkablyonlyathigherdegreeofbrominafion,andtherefore,PtoCO2isincreasedbymorethan100%overawiderangeofpressureinthecase.Thesolubilitydataarewelldescribedbythedualmodesorptionmodel.ItisfoundthatthegasmoleculessorbedbytheLangmuirmodearerelativelymoreimmobilizedandthecontributionofthenonequilibrinmcharacterofthepolymertogaspermeationincreasesobviouslyforCO2andishardlychangedforCH4withincreasingbrominecontent.Theseobservationsareinterpretedintermsofchangesinspecificfreevolume(SFV)andthecohesiveenergydensity(CED)ofthepolymers.

  • 简介:Theeffectsofinterfacialmodifieronthemechanicalpropertiesofkaolin-filledpolyamide6(PA6)havebeenstudied.Theinterracialinteractionbetweenpolyamide6andkaolinhasbeencharacterizedbymeansofinfraredspectroscopy(IR)andscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM).TheresultsshowthattheroleoftheinterracialmodifierliesinforminganelasticinterlayerwithgoodadhesionbetweenkaolinandPA6.Acompositewithhighimpactstrength,hightensilestrengthandhighelasticmoduluscanbeobtainedbyinsertingtheelasticinterfacialmodifierintotherigid-particle-filledpolymersystem.

  • 简介:Segmentedblockcopolymerbasedonnylon6(N6)andpolyethyleneoxide(PEO)withstochiometricratiowassynthesizedviaatwo-stepprocess.ThefirststeprepresentsendcappingofN6inthepresenceofadipicacidleadingtocarboxyterminatedN6,andthesecondoneispolycondensationofthelatterproductwithPEOinthepresenceofcatalystandthermostabilizertoformahighmolecularweightmulti-blockcopolymer.SeveralmethodswereappliedtocharacterizethesynthesizedcopolymersuchasFouriertransforminfraredspectroscopy,protonnuclearmagneticresonancespectroscopy,differentialthermalanalysis,differentialscanningcalorimetry,X-raydiffractionandatomicforcemicroscopy.Theobtainedresultsconfirmedthemulti-blockstructureforcopolymerwithaveryhighdegreeofmicro-phaseseparation.Atomicforcemicroscopymicrographsindicatedthatthemorphologywasthedispersionofhighstiffnessnanostructuredpolyamide(PA)domainsintheamorphousregionofPEOmatrix,whichcanbeveryimportantintheirperformanceformembraneprocesses.
