简介:Thisstudyanalyzesthefeasibilityofusingstainlesssteelelectricarcfurnace(EAF)slagascompositecementadmixtureandtheriskofleaching-outofheavymetals.TheresultsshowthatthestainlesssteelEAFslag,mainlymadeupofCa2SiO4,Ca3Mg(SiO4)2,someCr-containingmineralsandinsmallparticlesize,iseasilygroundandhascementitiousactivity.EAFslag,whenusedascementadmixture,canbeaddedwithamaximumpercentageof32%.ItcanmeetthestrengthrequirementsofthestandardP·C32.5cement.Whenthemixingpercentageisdecreasedto25%,thestrengthofthecementcanbeincreasedtothatofP·C42.5cement.Othermainqualityindexesofcompositecement,suchasthesettingtimeandstability,alsosatisfystandardrequirements.TheresultsalsoshowthatmostoftheheavymetalsinthestainlesssteelEAFslagexistinastablespeciation.TheconcentrationofheavymetalsthatleachoutfromthestainlesssteelEAFslagandthecompositecementproductsisfarlowerthanthestandardlimitofhazardouswastes.Themainheavymetal,chromium,existsaslesshazardoustrivalentchromium.Therefore,theriskofheavymetalsleachingoutfromthestainlesssteelEAFslagislow.Theinternalexposureindex(IRa)andtheexternalexposureindex(Iγ)ofthestainlesssteelEAFslagarebothlowerthan1.0,satisfyingthestandardrequirementsofthestatefortheradionuclidesofbuildingmaterials.Therefore,stainlesssteelEAFslagcanbesafelyusedasadmixturetoproducecompositecement.
