简介:ThispaperstudiesthedynamicresponsesofSDOFsystemunderpulse-dominantexcitations.Thepurposeofthestudyistoprepareforscrutinyofsomenear-fieldpulse-dominantgroundmotionsandtheirpotentialtocausestructuraldamage.Extendingthesinglepulsedynamics,weconsidertheeffectofpulsesequences.ThiskindofexcitationwasparticularlyobviousinsomeofpreviousearthquakessuchasNorthridge(1994)andChi-Chi(1995).Basedontheduration,peakandriseanddecayeraofthemainpulseaswellasitsrelationshipwiththepredecessorandsuccessorpulses,weproposeaclassificationforthepulsesequences.Consequentstudieshavebeencarriedoutforacceleration,velocityanddisplacementresponsespectraofthemainpulsewitheitherapredecessororasuccessorpulse.Theanalysisalsoincludesgeneralresponsebehaviorsindifferentfundamentalperiodsegmentsandspecialaspectsofresponseatcertainpoints(e.g.,thecorrespondingpeakpoints).
