EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL INVESTIGATION OF THE FIRST FOLD CREATION IN THIN WALLED COLUMNS

摘要 Inthispaper,atheoreticalformulaispresentedtopredicttheinstantaneousfoldingforceofthefirstfoldcreationinsquareandrectangularcolumnsunderaxialloading.Therectangularcolumnisasmallandsinglemodelofhoneycombswithsquareorrectangularcells.CalculationsarebasedontheanalysisoftheBasicFoldingMechanism(BFM).Forthispurpose,sumofthedissipatedenergyrateunderbendingaroundhorizontalandinclinedhingelinesandthedissipatedenergyrateunderextensionaldeformationswasequaltotheworkrateoftheexternalforceonthestructure.Thefinalformulaobtainedinthisresearch,reasonablypredictstheinstantaneousfoldingforceofsingle-cellsquareandrectangularhoneycombsinsteadoftheaveragevalue.Finally,accordingtothecalculatedtheoreticalrelation,theinstantaneousfoldingforceofthefirstfoldcreationinasquarecolumnwassketchedversusfoldingdistanceandcomparedtotheexperimentalresults,whichshowedagoodcorrelation.
