Precipitating Mechanism of Carbide in Cold-Welding Surfacing Metals

摘要 Carbidesinaseriesofcold-weldingweldmetalswerestudiedbymeansofSEM,TEMandEPMA,andtheformingmechanismofcarbidewasproposedaccordingtotheirdistributionandmorphology.Duetotheirdifferentcarbide-formingtendency,NbandTicouldcombinewithCtoformparticulatecarbideinliquidweldmetalanddepletedthecarboncontentinmatrix,whileVinducedthecarbideprecipitatedalonggrainboundary.ButtoomuchNborTialoneresultedincoarsecarbideandpoorstrengthenedmatrix.WhensuitableamountofNb,TiandVcoexistedinweldmetal,bothuniformlydistributedparticulatecarbideandwellstrengthenedmatrixcouldbeachieved.Itwasproposedthatthecarbidenucleatedontheoxidewhichdispersedinliquidweldmetal,andthengrewintomulti-layercomplexcarbideparticlesbyepitaxialgrowth.Atdifferentsites,carbideparticlesmaypresentasdifferentmorphologies.
