Nanningislocatedintheunder-developedareawithvariousethnicminoritiesinthesouthofChina.Since1995,Nanninghasbeenundergoingcomprehensiveimprovementinenvironmentinordertobringtotalchangestothebackwardurbaninfrastructureanddirtyanddisorderedurbanappearance,aswellastheunsatisfactoryhumansettlementsenvironment,especiallyseriousenvironmentalpollution.Inthepastyears,Nanninghaslaunchedamovementaimedatplanningandconstructingthecityitselfamodernecologicalgardencitywithcharacteristicandsubtropicalnatures,makingthecity,atthesametime,anewlookandwalkoutawayofdevelopingtheeconomybyraisingfundsinmultipleresources,enlarginginvestment,speedinginfrastructureconstructions.Intherecentyears,Nanninghassuccessivelywonsomeawardssuchas“NationalSanitaryCity”,“NationalOutstandingCityinEnvironmentalComprehensiveImprovement”,“NationalGardenCity”,“NationalOutstandingTouristCity”.Anditwasalsocollectedinthe2000DubaiInternationalAwardforBestPracticesinImprovingtheLivingEnvironmentasagoodpractice.
