Stimulated Brillouin scattering induced all-optical modulation in graphene microfiber

摘要 Graphenemicrofibersareburgeoningmodulatorswithgreatpotentialinall-opticalcommunication.Oneofthecriticalissuesthatremainstobeunderstoodisthedynamicmechanismoflight–grapheneinteraction.Here,weproposeapowerdependentmodulationbyusing980nmpumplightand1064nmsignallightviagraphenemicrofiber,andtheresultsshowastrongtransmissionreductionandfrequencyblueshiftwiththeincreaseofpumppower.TheexperimentalobservationisattributedtoastimulatedBrillouinscatteringprocessinducedbythepumplight.Powerandfrequencyvariationsarearesultofenergytransitionofthescatteredphononinthefiber.Thisworkrevealsthenonlineareffectprocessinthelight–grapheneinteractionandprovidesanewmethodforpowerandfrequencycontrolwithgrapheneall-opticalmodulation.
