摘要
TheMonte-CarloArrayProcessor(MAP)hasbeendesignedusingcommodityofftheshelf(COTS)itemstoprovidetheCPUrequirementsoffulleventsimulationfortheLHCexperiments.Thesolutionishowevercompletelygeneral,soandCPUintensiveapplicationwithlimitedinputrequirementscanberunonthesystem.Operatingcontrolsoftwarehasbeenwrittentomanagethedataflowoiverthe100BaseTethernetconnectingthe300nodes(400MHzPII's)tothe6mastercontrolnodes700MHzPIII'seachwith500Gbofdisk),Upgradeto1000nodesisplkanned.Jobcontrolsoftwarethatallowstheusertorunthesamejobonallnodes,whilstallowingforsmalldifferencesininitialisationparametersbetweennodeshasalsobeenwritten.GMAPistheGRIDawareMAPcontrolsoftware,Thisallowsremotejobpreparationandsubmissionusingglobustoolkitforauthentificationandcommunication.ThesoftwarewillbeavailableandopensthepossibilityfordoingmassiveMonteCarloproductionoverseveralremoteMAPsitessimultaneously.
