摘要 Targetshavebeendevelopedtomeasuresupersonicradiationtransportinaerogelfoamsusingabsorptionspectroscopy.Thetargetconsistsofanaerogelfoamuniformlydopedwitheithertitaniumorscandiuminsertedintoanundopedaerogelfoampackage.Thiscreatesalocalizeddopedfoamregiontoprovidespatialresolutionforthemeasurement.Developmentandcharacterizationofthefoamsisakeychallengeinadditiontomachiningandassemblingthetwofoamssotheymatewithoutgaps.Thefoampackageisinsertedintoaberylliumsleeveandmountedonagoldhohlraum.Thetargetismountedtoaholdercreatedusingadditivemanufacturingandmountedonastalk.Themanufacturingofthecomponents,alongwithassemblyandmetrologyofthetargetaredescribedhere.
