Seismic Reflection Characteristics and Evolution of Intrusions in the Qiongdongnan Basin: Implications for the Rifting of the South China Sea

摘要 TheQiongdongnanBasin(QDNB)issituatedintheextensionalzoneatthevertexoftheV-shapednorthwestsub-basin,non-volcanicnorthernmarginoftheSouthChinaSea(SCS).Fromnorthtosouth,thethicknessofthecontinentallithospheredecreasesfrom22kmonthenortherncontinentalshelfto17kmatthedeepestareaofthecentraldepression.Asharpchangeonthecrustalstructureisofimportancetohydrocarbonexplorationyetthedynamiccausesremainunknown.Acomprehensivestudyincluding(1)interpretationofseismicprofiles,(2)P-wavevelocitydatamodeling,and(3)magneticanomaliesanalysisrevealsthattherearesomehigh-densityintrusionsalongthelithosphericthinningbelt.ChaoticreflectionscanbefoundinthesouthwestoftheQDNB,withalowvelocity(<3.4km/s),whileinthecenterandtheeast,theintensivelydeformedstratapassingtowardsthediapirflanksandtheirhighvelocities(>6km/s)suggesttheexistenceofigneousdiapirs.Diapirismdifferentiationareprimarilyachievedthroughanalysisofthecontactrelationshipandthethicknessvariationsinthesurroundingstrata.ThefirstphaseofdiapirismalongtheSongnanlowupliftoccurredintheLateMesozoic,andthesecondphaseofdiapirisminaformofsubsequentgasmovementremainedactiveuntiltheLateQuaternary.Thedistributionandtheevolutionofthediapirswouldhavemajorimplicationsforpost-riftemplacement.
