摘要 Brainisthemostcomplexorganofhumanbeings.Thecompleteunderstandingofhumanbrains’functionsisanongoingchallengeforneuroscience.Althoughtherearemanytechniquesusedforbrainresearch,neuroscientists,physicists,andengineersarestillexploringotheraccessofresearchforapplications.Terahertz(THz)spectroscopyandimagingmaycreatesuchaspaceforbrainresearch.THzspectroscopictechnique,whichisanovelmedicalimagingmodality,attractsattentionofbiomedicalapplicationsduetoitsuniquefeaturesincludingnon-invasive,non-ionizing,andhighsensitivitytobiomoleculesandtissues.Inthisarticle,weintroduceourrecentinvestigationsonneuroscienceusingTHztechniques,meanwhile,introduceother’sworkinthisfield.Ourandothers’investigationsindicatethattheTHzspectroscopyandimagingtechniquecanbeusefulfordiagnosingbraintumorsandneurodegenerativediseases.THzspectroscopyandimaginghasthepotentialtobecomereal-timeinvivodiagnosticmethods.
