Laryngealsquamouscellcarcinoma(LSCC)remainsahighlymorbidandfataldisease.Historically,ithasbeenamodelexamplefororganpreservationandtreatmentstratificationparadigms.Unfortunately,survivalforLSCChasstagnatedoverthepastfewdecades.Astheeraofnext-generationsequencingandpersonalizedtreatmentforcancerapproaches,LSCCmaybeanidealdiseaseforconsiderationoffurthertreatmentstratificationandpersonalization.Here,wewilldiscusstheimportanthistoryofLSCCasamodelsystemfororganpreservation,uniqueandpotentiallytargetablegeneticsignaturesofLSCC,andmethodsforbringingstratified,personalizedtreatmentstrategiestothe21~(st)century.
