摘要 Genomeassemblyisaprerequisitestepforanalyzingnextgenerationsequencingdataandalsofarfrombeingsolved.Manyassemblytoolshavebeenproposedandusedextensively.Majorityofthemaimtoassemblesequencingreadsintocontigs;however,wefocusontheassemblyofcontigsintoscaffoldsinthispaper.Thisiscalledscaffolding,whichestimatestherelativeorderofthecontigsaswellasthesizeofthegapsbetweenthesecontigs.Pheromonetrail-basedgeneticalgorithm(PGA)waspreviouslyproposedandhaddecentperformanceaccordingtotheirpaper.Fromourpreviousstudy,wefoundthatfamilycompetitionmechanismingeneticalgorithmisabletofurtherimprovetheresults.Therefore,weproposefamilycompetitionpheromonegeneticalgorithm(FCPGA)anddemonstratetheimprovementoverPGA.
