XinjiangistheonlyChineseterritorythatneighborsAfghanistan.Itplaysaspecialandimportantroleandfunctioninsub-regionalcooperationaroundAfghanistan.Sub-regionalCooperationaroundAfghanistanAfghanistanislocatedinthehinterlandoftheEurasiancontinentintheChina,SouthAsiaandCentralAsiaregion.ItisnotonlythevitalcommunicationhubofEurasiaandtheMiddleEast,butalsothenecessaryrouteformajorpowersmovingwestandeast,ortravellingupanddownfromnorthtosouth.Itsgeographiclocationisveryimportant.Throughouthistory,aseriesofinternationalactions,measures,mechanismsandplanningprojectshavecombined,withlittlesuccess,toattempttocompleteregionalcooperationaroundorthroughAfghanistan.Thekeyissueisthelackofaunifiedplatformforcooperationthatconsiderstheneedsandinterestsofallparties.
