Numerical simulation on the NACA0018 airfoil self-noise generation

摘要 Airfoilself-noiseisacommonphenomenonformanyengineeringapplications.Aimingtostudytheunderlyingmechanismofairfoilself-noiseatlowMachnumberandmoderateReynoldsnumberflow,anumericalinvestigationispresentedonnoisegenerationbyflowpastNACA0018airfoil.Basedonahigh-orderaccuratenumericalmethod,boththenear-fieldhydrodynamicsandthefar-fieldacousticsarecomputedsimultaneouslybyperformingdirectnumericalsimulation.Themeanflowpropertiesagreewellwiththeexperimentalmeasurements.Thecharacteristicsofaerodynamicnoiseareinvestigatedatvariousanglesofattack.Theobtainedresultsshowthatincliningtheairfoilcouldenlargeturbulentintensityandproducelargerscaleofvortices.Thesoundradiationismainlytowardstheupperandlowerdirectionsoftheairfoilsurface.Athigherangleofattack,thetonalnoisetendstodisappearandthenoisespectrumdisplaysbroad-bandfeatures.
