Experimentalrevelationofsuperbluntingalongplanestrainpredominantcracktipsegmentisre-portedhereformodifiedpolyproplene.Aselucidatedbyaheuristicmodelofprogressivecircumferentialcold-draw,theformationofsuperbluntingcracktipdependscriticallyontheratiobetweenthecold-drawprop-agationspeedandtheloadingspeed,andcontributessignificantlytothematerialtoughening,especiallyfortheimprovementinimpacttoughness.Detailednumericalcalculationsareconductedbasedonahyperelastic-viscoplasticandanisotropicdamageconstitutivemodelatfinitedeformation.Thesimulatedresultsrecapitulatetheessentialfeaturesofcracktipsuperblunting.
