摘要
Thepurposeofthispaperistostudythedynamicalmechanismoferrorgrowthinthenumericalweatherprediction.Theerrorisdefinedinthesenseofgeneralizedenergy,simplycalledenergyerror.Fromthespectralformoftheprimi-tiveequations,wehavederivedtheevolutionequationsoferrorindetail.Theanalysesoftheseequationshaveshownthattheerrorgrowthrateisdeterminedbythetangentlinearequations.Thenonlinearadvectioncausedbytheerrorperturbationitselfcontributesnothingtotheerrorgrowthrate,andonlyredistributestheerror.Furthermore,anap-proachtocalculationoftheerrorgrowthratehasbeendeveloped,whichcanalsobeusedtostudythelocalinstabilityoftime-independentbasicstateaswellastime-dependencebasicstate.Thisapproachisappliedtowell-knownLorenz’ssystem,andtheresultsareindicativeofthecorrectnessandsignificanceofthetheoreticalanalyses.
