Sincethestartofthereformandopeningdrive,foreigntradeandeconomiccooperationinShaanxiProvincehasmadesignificantprogress.Bytheendof1995,theprovincehadapprovedtheimplementationof2,313itemsutilizingforeigninvestment,withtotalinvestmentvalueofUS＄6.771billion,contractualforeigninvestmentvalueofUS＄4.94billion,actualutilizationofforeigninvestmentofUS＄2.118billion,accountingfor42.9percentofthecontractualforeigninvestmentvalue.InJanuary-April1996,theprovinceapproved106itemsofforeigndirectinvestment,withtotalinvestmentofUS＄308million,contractualforeigninvestmentofUS＄220millionandactualutilizationofforeigninvestmentofUS＄116million.
